In February 2026, the Kaga Electronics Group submitted a commitment letter to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi)*1, aiming to obtain Science-Based Targets (SBT)*2 certification for further enhancing its efforts towards climate change. The letter was duly accepted.
Through this commitment, the Kaga Electronics Group will, within the next two years, establish near-term targets for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions aligned with the 1.5oC criteria required under the Paris Agreement*3, and will seek SBT certification.
The Kaga Electronics Group has established the long-term vision, “Medium- to Long-Term Sustainability Management Plan,” which outlines its desired state for 2030, and is proactively building a management base that places strong emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations. The Group has consistently advanced energy-efficient initiatives at its key manufacturing sites and worked to further expand the use of renewable energy.
The commitment to SBT represents an important step toward advancing the climate change initiatives set forth in the Sustainability Management Plan in a more concrete manner.
The Kaga Electronics Group will continue to promote climate change initiatives across the entire Group as it pursues its efforts to realize a sustainable society while enhancing corporate value.
