Kaga Electronics Group to Fully Internalize the Production of Small Wireless Modules ~Full-scale mass production of CONTINECT products to begin at Group factories in Thailand and Towada~

KAGA FEI Co., Ltd. (Head office: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director, President Takeshi Tsukamoto; hereinafter, “KAGA FEI”), a consolidated subsidiary of KAGA ELECTRONICS Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & COO Ryoichi Kado; hereinafter, the “Company”), will fully internalize the production of small wireless module products starting in April 2025, in cooperation with KAGA ELECTRONICS (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (hereinafter, “KAGA THAILAND”) and KAGA EMS TOWADA CO.,LTD. (hereinafter, "EMS TOWADA"), which are EMS(Note 1) business companies of the Company.
1. Background and Aim of the Small Wireless Module Business
In January 2022, KAGA FEI succeeded to the business rights, development and manufacturing technologies, and intellectual property rights related to Bluetooth®(Note 2) and Wireless LAN modules from TAIYO YUDEN Co., Ltd. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo), and launched the small wireless module business under its own brand “CONTINECT.” With its own internal engineering department, KAGA FEI has conducted contract development and manufacturing of large-scale integrated circuits such as LSI. In the wireless field, KAGA FEI has an extensive development track record involving both software and hardware, including the development of specified low-power wireless modules using mesh networking technology. By adding the new key device of a small wireless module to such knowledge and experience, KAGA FEI aims to expand its IoT solutions business through a broad ability to make proposals ranging from its previous network/cloud, and software development to also include EMS services. The background to the business transfer was that in January 2022, we established the Takasaki Development Center (located in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture), which consolidates design and development functions, and started developing our own brand of wireless module products. In July 2024, we transferred some production functions to KAGA THAILAND and gradually moved toward in-house production. And now, starting in April 2025, we have set up a mass production line at EMS TOWADA and established a system that will enable us to provide a stable supply in terms of BCM(Note 3). Wireless modules are growing markets with demand that can be expected to expand further in the future, and KAGA FEIʼs “CONTINECT” in particular is a promising product for worldwide customers engaged in product development using IoT in the communication equipment, industrial equipment, and consumer electronics fields. By taking a one-stop approach to development, production, and sales, we will strengthen our business competitiveness and increase added value, with the aim of achieving sales of 10 billion yen in three years, including related businesses.

2. Small Wireless Module “CONTINECT”
CONTINECT, the small wireless module with which KAGA FEI expands its business, has the following advantages.
1) World's smallest ultra-small Bluetooth Low Energy modules
An antenna is built-in, and they are suited to wearable and other devices that require a small size.
2) Software embedding
The lineup includes built-in products that do not require software development.
3) Extensive lineup
The lineup includes various packages with Bluetooth Low Energy/Wireless LAN/Wireless LAN＋Bluetooth features. A broad range of products has been prepared to meet diversifying customer needs.
